Motorola says new Android iDEN phone coming

Motorola seems to be backing the Android operating system to try to get themselves back in the game. We recently covered the EV440 which will be Motorola’s first Android phone and now it is using its Israeli subsidiary, Mirs, to create the Opus 1 mobile phone. The Opus 1 will be Android powered aswell but will be fairly limited in connectivity as it will only have a wifi connection and voice will be supported through iDEN networks. This may help Mirs find a niche in the industrial arena with the mobile handset. The Opus 1 is expected to be released sometime in 2010.
